  • Class of 1978

    Sharon Schliep

I was a married, commuting student who became pregnant during my senior year. Morning sickness and fatigue made my classes and workload even more challenging, but my teachers were great. Bill Niblette and Donna Leonard were wonderful, both in class and out, encouraging and cheering me on. My sister-in-law was a student at the time as well, and let me nap in her room when I had to stay for evening classes. At graduation, my growing belly fit well under my graduation gown and made for a great picture. My daughter Kristi was born 3 months later. Twenty-two years later, we took a picture at the same spot as my graduation picture, only she was graduating this time. We'd come full circle.
